The Expert
service is required for pictures that are torn, faded, discoloured,
or with creases, water stains etc. This includes areas of complex
detail (hands, feet, lace etc.). Major features on the subject
or background can be rebuilt (such as part of the face). Hand tinting photographs is a beautiful technique that can make
an evocative print from a monochrome original. In this case an
old black and white picture was restored and then hand tinted
There is a minimum charge for the Expert Service, but as the degree
of restoration required can vary enormously it may be necessary
to quote individually and costs will depend on the length of
time and extent of restoration required. Your photograph is first
scanned; the image is then cropped or resized if necessary, corrected
for colour balance, contrast and brightness. Any torn corners
are replaced. Creases, lines and marks on the background are
repaired. Defects on the subject matter (such as a person) are
repaired.
Two or more photographs can be combined into one composite picture.
Backgrounds can be altered or completely replaced. Sections of
the scene can be removed and replaced.
The first print or transfer to CD and return postage by first
class recorded delivery.
